Parents like how affordable and thorough this is, with diagramming practice most competitors skip, and by third grade many kids can work through it independently. Some content repeats year to year, workbooks aren't numbered which makes organizing lessons harder, and the upper grades (7-8) are under-reviewed even by dedicated review sites.
Parents of kinesthetic learners like that color-coded clue cards make grammar concrete without formal diagramming, and reviewers specifically note it helps kids who struggle with traditional, abstract grammar instruction. Availability can be uncertain at some retailers, and some parents want diagramming practice this method skips.
Neither is better for every child. Growing with Grammar is the stronger fit for structured, step by step; i'd rather a video or script teach. Winston Grammar is the stronger fit for enjoys it; reluctant or avoids it; finds it hard.
