Parents consistently point to the Orton-Gillingham method and full scripting as reasons a struggling or anxious reader finally clicks with this program. The trade-off shows up just as often: it asks for real one-on-one time every day, and the upfront cost for a full set of levels adds up.
Parents like that Foundations wraps reading, spelling, handwriting and grammar into one scripted program, so there's nothing else to buy for the early years. The most common frustration is cost across four levels, and a few parents find the multisensory games take longer than a plain phonics lesson.
Neither is better for every child. All About Reading is the stronger fit for reading but struggling; plenty. Logic of English Foundations is the stronger fit for not yet reading; some.
